A Successful Clean-up Day at Murchison Place
What a difference five hours makes, especially when 48 volunteers work to prepare a community park for summer enjoyment! At Murchison Place park, on a warm sunny May 22nd, all the excess leaves and branches were taken away, leaving the flowers and shrubs looking healthy. The picture shows the North River 4-H club who participated in the clean-up and created a great compost bin for future use. Trees and flowers were planted, and playground equipment was cleaned. Volunteers were well fed and enjoyed the chatter as they worked and ate together. Thanks to all who brought or sent food and especially to Maxine Mallett who brought and barbequed hotdogs. Special mention to those family names with the most helpers, namely Ross (7), MacQuarrie (6), and Wood (5).
