Google Street View Artist Paints Clyde River Scene
Each month, American Artist Bill Guffey chooses a location somewhere in the world and invites artists to choose a google street view photo as their inspiration for a painting or drawing.
Prince Edward Island is among other locations that have been selected such as Amsterdam, Hawaii, Paris, Mexico City, Barcelona and Czech Republic.
Bill Guffey was interviewed today on CBC Island Morning, and he said that PEI offered them a beautiful diversity of views of city, landscape and seascapes. The paintings are featured on Artist Bill Guffey’s blog
We are putting the challenge out to you to find the google street view that you think Wendy referred to in her painting. If you find it, please add the link in the comments section.

This looks like where the golf course is now or just past it where the two brown sheds are.
I found some links to Wendy Manning’s other work and based on the style of painting, it appears to be the person who painted the Clyde River scene. One is an Oil Pastel Society interview with Wendy and the other shows a painting demonstration. She lives in New Brunswick.
I knew exactly where this view was, as I have taken many a picture from that same spot myself. It is just down the road from the Cameron’s “new” home. If you search for 344 Clyde River Road, Clyde River, PEI, it brings you the general vicinity. The link to the exact Google Maps area is http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=clyde+river,+pei&sll=49.891235,-97.15369&sspn=18.079882,59.150391&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Clyde+River,+Queens+County,+Prince+Edward+Island&ll=46.216189,-63.26623&spn=0,0.057764&t=h&z=14&layer=c&cbll=46.20828,-63.26797&panoid=vymYJIvCgUTxAz72y4KZ2A&cbp=12,162.08,,0,8.31.
Congratulations Victoria! That looks like the exact spot.
