Murchison Place Park Clean-Up Day, May 21

To all friends and visitors of Murchison Place Park:

Please mark Saturday, May 21 and come to lend a hand to help prepare our community park for the 2011 season. At 9 a.m., we will start this work. The main focus this year is cleaning out the front corner of Murchison Place park. We are renting a chipper so we can mulch the branches and debris from the fallen trees.  We will spread this mulch in the corner area to reduce the overgrowth of weeds and raspberry canes. There will also be trees to plant to replace the four trees that either fell or had to be cut down this year. Specific duties will be assigned.

As in past years, we need able-bodied volunteers with rakes, shovels, gloves and sweaters or jackets and good boots or footwear. We will provide midmorning snacks and an easy lunch. There will be time to meet and chat with neighbours. We hope to be finished by early afternoon.

Thank you to the North River 4-H group who plan to help again this year. A good turnout of community volunteers will make this clean-up day a rewarding activity that can even be fun.
