Updates to Riverview Community Centre

Thanks to a 2011 government sponsored New Horizons for Senior’s grant obtained by the Clyde River Women’s Institute, the community centre in Clyde River is now more energy-efficient. The basement walls have been insulated and then covered with gyproc and painted. A fiberglass oil tank ensures years of maintenance free service. New wider safer stairs have been built, and the side entrance is open and bright. A spacious room on the lower level has been created for use. On the main level, an energy-efficient fridge and stove have been purchased, and a storage area has been built at the back of one of the large rooms.

Of course, construction creates dust, and Tuesday of this week, ten people, including the Committee overseeing the construction, worked hard to make the Centre clean and ready for use. This completes stage one of the updates planned to enhance the function of the Community Centre.
