I would often go the Shaw home with my father when on PEI for summer vacations. He and my father attended the St. Catherine’s School (donated to the community by my grandfather Malcolm MacEachern). A big man with a brusque voice; he was very emphatic with his words. Words that carried him to the islands highest post. I remember his wife Margaret as being so much the opposite. Very quiet and soft spoken. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the days of the clay roads and absence of electricity during those 2 week to month long journeys from New Jersey. Hopefully I will be drawn once more to our beautiful island to say goodbye to friends and relatives.
