David Weale to Lecture this Thursday evening, 7:00 p.m., Riverview Community Centre
David Weale will present our next Clyde River Lecture this Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Riverview Community Centre. David will speak about “The Communal Islander – The Challenges to Island Communities.”
On his website, he refers to himself as an author, editor, storyteller, humorist, writer of books for children, shorewalker, grandfather, blunderer, wonderer, and stalker of mystery. He has written more than a dozen books. Them Times sold over 20,000 copies. His children’s book, The True Meaning of Crumbfest, was awarded the Brimer Award for best children’s book in Atlantic Canada. One of his latest ventures is the publication RED, a magazine that features storytelling by Islanders about Islanders. David understands our history and the threads of humour that weave through its fabric.
This is David’s first scheduled appearance in Clyde River, so let’s get out and offer him a great welcome. His books and magazines will be available for sale at this event, so you can get your own autographed copies. We’re planning to make some fresh biscuits for this occasion.
